Rick Denico (’63) received our Distinguished Alumnus Award during the past Spring Awards Banquet. Rick graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering in 1963 and began his career at Keyes Fibre Co (now Huhtamaki). He spent fourteen years in their research division, five years supporting Chinet Production, and then fourteen more years as Senior Process Engineer working in the US, Canada and Europe. During his work in research, he developed a new Chinet furnishing process, and while supporting Chinet production, he converted his mill to 100% secondary paper, oversaw its computerization, and launched a new product. He and his wife Camille then enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world while he worked as a Sr. Process Engineer.
